Roger Garcia takes a trip through the film history of the Philippines when he visits a unique institution - the Mowelfund
Film Museum in Manila. The Museum's creator and curator, Nick Deocampo (himself an icon in Filipino cinema and father
of its independent film movement) explains the development of cinema and the film industry from its earliest days through
Japanese collaboration in the Second World War, to its golden age in the 1950s with Gerry de Leon and Lamberto Avellana at
major studios like LVN and Sampuiguita Pictures. The collection concludes with the international profiles of Lino Brocka,
Ishmael Bernal, Mike de Leon, and the birth of contemporary Filipino cinema at the Mowelfund Film Insitute.
